Lake Cushman Cabin Repair

Lake Cushman Cabin Repair
Location: Lake Kushman, WA

We recently finished up on some major repair work on a friend’s cabin on Lake Kushman, WA. His grandpa built it in the 60’s on the weekends and has been used as a vacation spot over the years.

There are many problems with this cabin at the moment, but the biggest was a corner in the front that had completely rotted away. It is set down in front of an old retaining wall with little sun and tons of moisture.

We decided to completely remove the rotted corner and replace with treated framework rather than rebuild a log corner. We also installed a new treated “soldier pile and lagging” retaining wall in front of the old railroad tie wall that was failing. We also installed a french drain around the foundation to help with drainage.

The other problems with this cabin are the concrete chinking causing more rot around the cabin, the failed finish, and the rotted decks. We will be back over the years to remove the old chinking and do a full restoration.

Closed Captioning
Closed captioning provides a transcript for the audio track of a video presentation that is synchronized with the video and audio tracks. Captions are generally visually displayed over the video, which benefits people who are deaf and hard of hearing, and anyone who cannot hear the audio due to noisy environments. Most of our website’s video content includes automated captions. Learn how to turn captioning on and off in YouTube.

Volume Controls
Your computer, tablet, or mobile device has volume control features. Each video and audio service has its own additional volume controls. Try adjusting both your device’s volume controls and your media players’ volume controls to optimize your listening experience.
